LCSD Kindergarten Registration to Take Place in March

The Liverpool Central School District is preparing for kindergarten registration for the 2018-2019 school year. All resident students born on or before December 1, 2013, are eligible to register for kindergarten for the 2018-2019 school year. Please take a moment to read the following information to find out more about registering students for kindergarten.
It is important for families to know that all registration forms must be submitted, and approved, before a spot will be held for a student.
In February, kindergarten informational packets will be mailed to families that we know have a child eligible to enter kindergarten. Please contact your home school to be placed on its mailing list.
Don’t know which building is your home school? Download the LCSD “Street Code Book.” Find your street and use the “ELEM 15-16” column to find your home school (the key to building codes can be found on page 2 of the “Street Code Book”).
If you have an eligible child, but do not receive an information packet during the week of February 18, contact the Office of K-8 Education at 315-622-7177 for a packet.
Informational packets mailed to families will provide the date, time and location for the student’s initial registration day. Registration must be done in person by the resident parent or legal guardian. Note: Children who will attend a private, parochial or charter school need to be registered at the District Office during normal business hours (7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.).
Registration will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. at the District Office (195 Blackberry Road) on the following dates:
March 15 for: Soule Road Elementary, Willow Field Elementary and Morgan Road Elementary
March 19 for: Elmcrest Elementary, Long Branch Elementary and Liverpool Elementary
March 22 for: Nate Perry Elementary, Donlin Drive Elementary and Chestnut Hill Elementary
According to NYS law, children entering kindergarten are asked to complete several small tasks called “kindergarten screening.” Upon registration, parents will be notified of the scheduled screening dates.
What Do I Need to Register My Child?
In addition to the registration packet, the following documents are needed to register:
- Birth Certificate (Original)
- Immunization Record from Doctor - Not transcribed in a record book (NYS Requirement) and must be signed by the medical provider
- Proof of Residency - One of the following examples: current utility bill (electric), cable/satellite bill, water bill
- Parent Photo Identification - Resident parent must register child in person
Certain cases may require additional documentation. These include residency affidavits, court issued custody documents, Individual Education Plan (IEP), or Foster Parent Form (DSS-2999).
