Liverpool CSD to Submit Reopening Plan to NYS

Friday, July 31, 2020

Dear LCSD Families and Staff:

Later today, the Liverpool Central School District will submit its School Reopening Plan to the New York State Education Department and the New York State Health Department.

The plan includes provisions for topics such as health & safety, facilities, nutrition, transportation, social-emotional well-being, school schedules, budget & fiscal, attendance & chronic absenteeism, technology & connectivity, teaching & learning, special education, bilingual education & world languages, and staffing & human resources.

To view the plan that will be submitted to the state, click here.

If you need assistance with translating the submitted plan into another language, please contact LCSD Executive Director of Elementary Education Richard Chapman at 315-622-7176.

Please note that the district considers the School Reopening Plan to be a living document that will be updated throughout the school year as the state provides additional guidance in terms of safety and education.

In addition, the district is conducting a second survey asking the intentions of our families for the Fall 2020. You can view the survey by clicking here.

Please take a few moments to fill out this survey, which will be open until Friday, August 7. If you are unable to fill out the survey online, please contact your child’s school building for assistance.

If you are still unsure if you will send your students back to school this fall, please answer “yes” to the questions regarding in-person learning. Parents and guardians will have the opportunity to opt out at any point during the first semester of school. Once you opt out, however, you will be unable to participate in in-person learning until the second semester of the school year, which begins on Monday, February 1, 2021.

Next week, the district will provide families and staff with a link to a “Submit Your Questions Form” on its Web site. Answers to those questions will be posted on the Web site and sent to families and staff via SchoolMessenger.

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding throughout this entire process.

Sincerely,

Dr. Mark F. Potter
Superintendent of Schools
